If aliens arrived tomorrow, what’s the first thing you’d ask them?
Aliens arrive tomorrow; well why in the universe would you come to this troubled world? Not to save us; most likely scenarios
- Urban Renewal: As stated by the late Douglas Adams in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, the Earth is destroyed to make way for a hyperspace bypass(most of in the states would call them interstates.) No grand agenda, no statements about the dangers of letting humanity loose upon the universe and nothing about mineral resources or empire building. Just a footnote in the bureaucracy of the universe. The idea here is that we’re not as important as we think we are.
- Oatmeal. Yep, yep, yep , yep
- Take the whales away; ST IV had it right.
In those scenarios, I don’t know that I would have much of an opportunity to ask them anything except if they prefer Quaker Oats or another brand perhaps.
