Writing what people want to read

How do you write what people actually want to read?

The short answer:  I don’t.  I write what I wish to write;  That is the point.  To chase what others want is to waste energy.  You may as well chase smoke and worse still, you become a slave to what others want.  

I didn’t start writing to chase shadows.  I started writing to express myself because that is my right.
